it has been great!!

greetings from indonesia!! woohoo~~~ hahaha..have been deprived from the use of internet for a few days. currently now in hanny's office, using her com while waiting for her to finish her jap class. then we'll be going for dinner.

basically, things are really cheap here. almost everything is half the price of singapore's! thus, urs truly here have been spending and spending. i'm offically broke now. as in penniless. there's no more $$ in my bank coz i withdrew all of them and brought them over to spend. kp, i need my pay!! haha..

when we reached jakarta on thurs, the first place that hanny brought us to is '2 mangoes'. it's a shoppers' paradise but it's unlike the malls, tus, the place is kinda old. but who cares, things are super duper cheap here!! i bought 4 pairs of pants and 2 working blouse for only S$112!!. haha..i feel like a queen here.

if u think that things r cheap in jakarta, wait till u go to bandung. we watched mr and mrs smith for only 3 bucks! let's see, when was the last time movie cost that amount in singapore?? the cafes over at bandung are romantic and full of ambience. their cafes are equivalent to our high class restaurant here. think fullerton and triple 3. even menotti can't be compared to them. and there are lotsa factory outlets in bandung which sell authentic branded goods! they have brands like abercrombie, mango, banana republic etc. they are actually factory rejects probably wif the wrong size attached. but if u search hard enough, u can get a real good bargain.

jetting off..

alright, in 2 hours time, i'm be flying off to jakarta!! woohoo!~~~ now waiting for nz to pick me up...i packed a suitcase and my nike bag to contain all my shoppings!! =P ohh..if u need guys need anything, juz sms me. me subscribe to autoroam.

to go or not to go???

i know dearie worried and to tell u the truth, i'm a little scared.
there are warnings issued out by the US and Australian governments against unnecessary visits to indonesia, esp jakarta. sigh..why muz it happen at this time? esp when my trip is this coming thurs? i know he is secretly hoping that i will call off my trip but i will need to discuss wif nianzhi and esp hanny, with regard to the situation over there.

my heart aches whenever i think about the 241 bucks which i had already paid for the plane tix. but he's right. "that amount is insignificant as compared to ur safety and a lifetime of togetherness with a great person like me," smsed him.
guess my heart really aches not because of the money wasted but the disappointment which i have to endure instead. i was really looking forward to the trip. finally i can enjoy a real break. if cancelled, it'll be too late to go somewhere else and difficult to find company too. even rawa is not possible coz osim is nearing.

well, no point cracking my head over this. should juz wait for nz to come back and discuss wif her about it.

me and kp brought jo jo to the pets' fair at junctin 8 juz now. there were so many cute dogs!! heheh..i feel like keeping one too =)

flu bug

ever since my throat started feeling itchy and dry on tue, i knew something was wrong. true enough, the flu bug has caught me. sigh...i hate flu! i rather have cough instead of that. makes me drowsy, sleepy and sneezy. after popping in many cold relief panadols, my nose is still runny.

i had my last tuition class today, unknowingly. thought i would still be back next mon to wed for one class each but they decided to cancel it. looks like i'll have less money to spend over at indo. miss the kids and didn't get the chance to tell them that i won't be teaching them anymore. probably won't be going there to teach since i'm starting my work soon. it'll be hard to relief too. it was enjoyable teaching them. some of them were really obedient, lovable and keen on learning. of course, there were also those little brats. haha..thank goddness i didn't have any of them for this week.

well, at least i can get to rest before i leave on thurs. which means more time to pack, catch up on my reading, spend wif him and FUTURAMA!!

a little flattered..

who would not be when a stranger especially a man who u have never met before came up to u and said," Nice pants!"?
my reply? "oh, thanx"

i was having a lousy day yesterday. having a dry and itchy throat and feeling extremely tired from the very early wakeys. was also slightly disappointed when my date wif dearie had to be cancelled but was later resumed again when i decided to roam around ikea myself while waiting for him to finish wat he had to do back in sch. we were supposed to go shopping for visor.

after spending around 1 hour at ikea, i went on to queensway. i was shopping around when this guy came up from behind wif that pick-up line. i was shocked. and it was kinda scary. i mean nice pants, which means he was staring at my legs and maybe my butt? because i had tuition classes from 9-3pm, i was actually in formal wear. pants and a decent looking top. an attire which didn't make me look too young and kiddo.

so i paused to see who was that.
"i like ur tan. u do sports regularly?"
that was his 2nd compliment. smiling at me was this 32 year old man (he told me his age), dressed in a striped short sleeve shirt and pants, carrying 2 shopping bags. i stopped and answered him. i guess it was only polite to reply. and guess the next thing he said?
"You have a nice set of braces"
what?!!?? either he was really desperate to pick up a girl or he was trying very hard to strike a conversation wif me. i
was like, "eer, are u sure? i thought ppl would find braces hideous?"
"ohh, u will be surprised to find that some guys are actually turn on by girls who wear braces."
i can't help but laugh. surprisingly, it was actually kinda nice talking to him. perhaps i was biased since he complimented me. but seriously, he really made me day.

when he learnt that i was shopping for visor, he offered to accompany me. i declined so we stood outside a sports shop and chatted for about 10-15 mins. and he asked for my number twice. of course i said no but he was rather persistent. and we went on to talk about this health supplement, evening primrolls which he claimed is effectively in curing ulcers and insisted that i try it. so he passed me his no. and told me to text him about the results. later on, he invited me to his house for a swim when he realised that i got my tan from regular swimming. my god! wat was he thinking? or was i imagining things?
finally, i said, "i'm actually waiting for my boyfriend to come."
"it's okie. get him to come and we can all swim together"

wow, when i told dearie later wat happened, he said he would punch him if he ever see him. he thinks he's a sex pervert and even got his no. from me. haha.. but really, queensway is indeed a weird place to get pick up. dearie was neither mad nor jealous but said he would be fuming if i did give him my no. and he told me about his experience wif this prudential financial planner when he was at expo, who obviously was trying to be funny wif him. called him and asked him out. i guess we r both hotties eh? hahaha..we had a good laugh and teased each other about our little admirers. hey, i'm not boasting but the whole experience was really..unbelievable?

though we didn't spend a long time together, it was sweet. he 'pry' the tea egg into pieces for me so i could eat them as i still could not bite using my front teeth.

later in the night, he asked me,
"what would u do if there was no me?"
"life still goes on but i would be very sad. how about u?"
"tri would become my religion"
"it already is for u now"

hmm..not sure why he asked the question. but i know that he had compromised and made time for me despite his busy training schedule. and i really appreciate what he had done. mushy it may be, but i love u dearie for all that u have done. =) i really hope we have the chance to lead a life together.

work is tiring but..

the $$ definitely makes me smile! and the ability to not get $$ from my parents makes me feel even prouder of myself. not that i earned big bucks over the weekend, but i'm quite satisfied wif my own performance. and it's always nice to get compliments. the staff over at the optical shop said i was diligent and they wanted me to go back there again. haha..too bad, i'm gonna be a corporate slave soon.

it's another round of work again tom. this time it's tution. gotta wake up early and endure thru that long 55 ride.

hard- earned money

both me n dearie earned around 90 bucks each for today's work. and trust me, it's no easy money. there's a lot self motivation, patience, smileys and talkings involved. we juz barely hit our daily sales target all thanx to next booth shawn for helping us get one of those financial planners to pruchase the 42nd pack. bingo! $10 incentive for each of us. he muz be thinking we're really hard up for that 10 bucks. we even skipped dinner coz there's was a crowd and we were really psyched up to hit 42 packs. he and his partner sold 23 packs the day b4. all thanx to the IT fair which helped to bring in more crowd. of course, thanx to all the shoppers and beautiful mothers for purchasing from us! =)

from earning $13/ $15 per hour from tuition (that is my most generous per hour pay rate among all my jobs)to earning $5.50 per hour is a huge change. of course not including my PA which i earned a meagre $4 per hour. my toes were sored from standing when we closed the booth at 10pm. we had officially stood for 10.5 hours today! we only sat down for our short 10 mins lunch break of duck rice and misc 5-10 mins when we drank our water. fortunately i received enough training during my giordano days. haha..

me and dearie striked quite a good partnership. for the first 3 hours, i sold around 7-8 packs while he sold 1! guess he was kinda sian at tat point of time though he was still beaming brightly. he was definitely amazed by my marketing skills! haha..dunno how i did it. i juz whacked at everyone that i saw. sometimes even the most unlikely customer will purchase as long as u approach them! so never judge a book by its cover. be sincere, patient, courteous and smile always. there will definitely be some nice souls around who need wat u r selling. i believe in good kharma.

it was really fun working together. it has been a long time since we worked together. the last being our odac days. time passed extremely fast when u r enjoying good company. his of course and some customers were really nice to serve. this shows the importance of nice colleagues. though it was tiring, and a few ramblings amongst ourselves, i really enjoyed my day.

hard earned money like this also make me appreciate of wat i have like him and esp. money which i earned and those which my parents gave me. guess the next time i spend, i'll think twice b4 digging out my wallet. well, at least for the next few days! ha!

towards the end, wif the dinner crowd, we sort of even out. even lost count on the no. of packs we sold. sometimes, crowd attracts crowd. ppl r curious at wat is happening over there, thus pop in to see if there are any cheap bargains. and for those of u who r free these few days till sun, do go down to the IT fair at expo. not sure wat stuff they have over there but surely free gifts. saw many queueing for free keyboards in the morning. and after tat, pop by to the Mothercare fair at the next hall, 5! look for my darling if u need to get eye care products. haha..and wait. cheap Nestle cereals are on sale there too! 2 med packs for 4 bucks and 2 large packs for for 7 bucks. wat a bargain! ntuc sells around 2.50 and 4.70 respectively. flavours include koko crunch, milo, choco chip and our fave honey stars! haha..both of us n kp bought 2 large packs the day b4! oh yah, and there are eu yan seng stuff on sale too! heard that the 6 packs chicken esscence are selling for 9.90 only! 50% off the usual price of 19.90. and bird's nest going at 31.20 after 20% off 39. go grab it! these r the cheap bargains i know. the rest are mainly juz suitable for mothers and babies. unless any of u guys there are planning to start a family soon! esp baguana n spastic! haha..

new job!

all thanx to kp, both me and dearie managed to work part time for her company. we definitely owe her a treat! my first assignment was supposed to be on the weekends. but dearie's partner couldn't make it tom so i'll will be working wif him instead! haha..can't imagine that. hope our mo qi and good partnership can help us rake in some good and big sales!! sell more and earn more $$!! haha..too bad pay day is 4-6 weeks away. =(

rem the good news i mentioned in my previous blog? nah..no longer that good coz my tutition classes has been reduced. sighz..so lesser money to spend on my indo trip..or the possibility of asking my parents for some safety $$.

cut and did a new colour for my hair. i absolutely love my new colour! but it cost me a bomb. $135 in total. took $$ from mama..and she asked me the same question again, "how much are u gonna give me next time when u work? $500 or $600?" i pretended i didn't hear and ignore her. izzit too much an amount? i asked some of my frenz and they dun seem to give that much to their parents. maybe my mama was trying to test how filial i am to her. intended to help pay some of the bills at home like scv and internet. then i'll give her around 200-300 bucks. haiz..shall see when i really got my pay. i still need to set aside money for my braces. hmm..me seemed to have a lot of bills to pay man.

borrowed 2 books from kp: man are from mars woman are from venus and one for my baby by tony parsons. i'm gonna lead an enriching life this holiday b4 i become a corporate slave..meanwhile, i'm breaking the da vinci code..haha
